Indications/Uses
Local treatment acne & certain conditions which cause difficulties in the formation of the skin's stratum corneum.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Do not use in pregnancy or in women planning a pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if a reaction suggesting sensitivity or chemical irritation occurs. Minimize exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Do not use in patients w/ sunburn. Patients whose occupation requires considerable sun exposure & those w/ inherent sensitivity to the sun; w/ eczematous skin. Weather extremes eg, wind or cold. Avoid contact in the eyes, mouth, angles of the nose & mucous membranes. May induce severe local erythema & peeling at the site of application. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Erythema, edema, blistering (reduce dose). Slight hypo- or hyperpigmentation (reversible). Hypersensitivity to sunlight & sunlamps.
Drug Interactions
Possible interaction w/ topical medication, medicated or abrasive soaps & cleansers, soaps & cosmetics that have strong drying effect & products w/ high conc of alcohol, astringents, spices or lime. Concomitant use w/ prep contain sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid.
