Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of acute & chronic diarrhea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Acute diarrhea Initially 2 cap followed by 1 cap after each loose bowel movement. Max: 8 cap daily. Chronic diarrhea Initially 2 cap followed by 1 cap after each loose bowel movement. Maintenance dose: 2-4 cap daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Constipation; abdominal swelling or pain; acute dysentery; pseudomembranous colitis, acute ulcerative colitis, meningitis or history of liver disease. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Dry mouth, abdominal pain, distention or discomfort, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, flatulence, dyspepsia, constipation, epigastric pain, paralytic ileus & toxic megacolon.
Drug Interactions
Increased constipating effect w/ antidepressants, antihistamines, cold medications & drugs that can cause drowsiness.
