Clopidogrel bisulfate
Indications/Uses
Given prophylactically as an alternative to aspirin in patients w/ atherosclerosis who are at risk of thromboembolic disorders eg MI, peripheral arterial disease & stroke.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Prophylaxis of thromboembolic events 75 mg once daily. Management of acute coronary syndromes including unstable angina & non-Q wave MI 300 mg loading dose followed by 75 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Discontinue 5-7 days before elective surgery.
Adverse Reactions
Blood dyscrasias, serum sickness, interstitial pneumonitis, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, lichen planus & myalgia.
Drug Interactions
Anticoagulants, antiplatelets, NSAIDs.

B01AC04 - clopidogrel ; Belongs to the class of platelet aggregation inhibitors excluding heparin. Used in the treatment of thrombosis.
