Betahistine (16-mg: diHCl; 24-mg: HCl)
Indications/Uses
Meniere's disease, Meniere-like syndrome (w/ symptoms of vertigo, tinnitus & sensorineural deafness) & vertigo of peripheral origin.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 24-48 mg given in 2 or 3 divided doses. 16-mg tab ½-1 tab tid. 24-mg tab 1 tab bid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Do not give to patients w/ pheochromocytoma. Patients w/ asthma, PUD or a history of PUD. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended to childn.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, headache, skin rashes & pruritus.
