View Afrin overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to oxymetazoline or other adrenergic agents. Patients after trans-sphemoidal hypophysectomy; w/ narrow-angle glaucoma; acute CV disease or cardiac asthma; severe high BP; taking MAOIs or those who have taken MAOIs in the previous 2 wk.
Heart disease, high BP, thyroid disease, diabetes or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland. May cause rebound congestion if used for >3 days. Do not use during pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in childn <6 yr.
