Indications/Uses
Duodenal & non-malignant gastric ulcer.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Duodenal & gastric ulcer 1 tab qds. Duodenal ulcer 2 tab bd on waking & at bedtime. Prophylaxis of duodenal ulcer recurrence 1 tab bd.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before meals & at bedtime.
Special Precautions
Not indicated for the prophylaxis of duodenal ulcer recurrence. Chronic renal failure. Patients w/ serum Al conc should be monitored. Pregnancy, women of childbearing potential. Childn <18 yr.
Drug Interactions
There should be a 2-hr interval between administration of sucralfate & other non-antacid drugs. Antacids should not be taken ½ hr before or after sucralfate intake. Reduces bioavailability of tetracycline, cimetidine, phenytoin, digoxin. Reduces peak drug conc of naproxen, indomethacin, ketoprofen.
