Terazosin HCl
Dosage/Direction for Use
Benign prostatic hyperplasia Initially 1 mg at bedtime, increase in stepwise fashion at wkly intervals of 2, 5 or 10 mg once daily. Maintenance: 5-10 mg once daily. HTN Initially 1 mg at bedtime, increase slowly to achieve desired BP. Max: 20 mg/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Hypotension & syncope w/ 1st dose or 1st few doses. Anaphylactoid-like reactions (discontinue). Renal function impairment. Elderly, childn.
Adverse Reactions
Syncope, dizziness, asthenia, headache, somnolence, nasal congestion, palpitation, postural hypotension, impotence, UTI, pharyngitis, dyspnea, rhinitis, dysuria, back pain, nausea, flu syndrome, rash, sinusitis, hypotension, chest pain, vertigo, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, amblyopia.
