Bromfenac is used to treat eye inflammation and reduce the pain after undergoing cataract surgery.
Use Bromfenac exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.
1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before applying the eye drops.
2. Tilt your head slightly backwards and look upwards.
3. Pull down the lower eyelid gently using your finger.
4. Apply the required number of drops inside the lower eyelid.
If you are wearing contact lens, remove it first before applying this medicine.
If you are using any other eye drops than Bromfenac, wait for at least 5 minutes between application of each medicine.
Do not allow the tip of the dropper to touch your eyes, eyelids or any other surfaces. Always keep the bottle tightly closed whenever not in use.
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
If you often forget to apply your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not apply Bromfenac if you ever had an allergic reaction (rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to this medicine or any similar medicines such as aspirin, diclofenac, ibuprofen or ketorolac.
Inform your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:
- bleeding disorder
- eye or corneal disease
- complicated or repeated eye surgery within a short period of time
- diabetes (high sugar level in the blood)
- rheumatoid arthritis (joint pain and swelling disorder)
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
You may experience some problems with your eyesight. If you cannot see clearly, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
This medicine may cause any of the following side effects: abnormal sensation in the eye, conjunctival hyperaemia (redness of the white outer layer of the eyeball), eye irritation, eye pain, eye itching, eye redness, headache and iritis (inflammation of the middle layer of the eye).
Always keep your doctor updated of any changes in your eyesight
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Store below 25°C, away from the reach of children.
Throw away this medicine 4 weeks after first opening.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
