Overdosage

Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole w/ some liqd.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Enlarged prostate gland, glaucoma, chronic constipation or asthma &/or lung insufficiency. Coma; disturbance of consciousness condition. Shortly before or during labour. Lactation. Childn <14 yr.

Special Precautions
Patients w/ HTN, convulsive diseases or CVA; suffering from or w/ history of resp, CV, liver, kidneys/urinary, digestive (eg, ulcer) impairment; intracranial pressure; addicted to opioids. Prolonged & high dose may produce tolerance, physical & mental dependence. Cough persisting for >2-3 wk. May affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy. Elderly.

Adverse Reactions
Mild headache & somnolence; nausea, vomiting, constipation.
Drug Interactions
Sedating & resp depressive action may be potentiated w/ other CNS depressants, analgesics, antiallergic agents & hypertensives. Potentiated effect w/ cimetidine & other drugs influencing liver metabolism. Increased plasma conc of morphine. Reduced psychomotor capacity w/ alcohol.
