Indications/Uses
Relief of painful conditions of the mouth & throat including tonsillitis, sore throat, radiation mucositis, aphthous ulcers, post-orosurgical & periodontal procedures. Helps to reduce the development of plaque & gingivitis during the period of treatment when the usual oral hygiene measures are interrupted.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Gargle 15 mL for least 30 sec at 1½-3 hrly intervals. Rinse for oral lesions 15 mL held in the mouth & swirled around for least 30 sec, w/ repeated use every 1½-3 hr throughout the day. Usual oral hygiene procedures Swirl around in the mouth for at least a min. Childn 5-15 mL as a gargle or oral rinse.
Special Precautions
Hepatic or renal impairment. Soln should not be swallowed. If sore throat is caused or complicated by a bacterial infection, appropriate antibacterial therapy should be considered in addition to the use of Difflam-C. Pregnancy. Childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Oral numbness; increased staining of teeth & other oral surfaces, increase in calculus & alteration in taste.
