Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of nausea, vomiting or vertigo & motion sickness.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 50-100 mg every 6-8 hr. Childn 6-12 yr 25-50 mg every 6-8 hr not >150 mg in 24 hr. Childn 2-6 yr Up to 25 mg every 6-8 hr not >75 mg in 24 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Newborn or premature infant & nursing mother.
Special Precautions
Asthma, glaucoma or enlargement of the prostate gland. Avoid alcoholic beverages. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness. Disturbed coordination, fatigue, restlessness, confusion, nervousness, blurred vision, tinnitus, tremor, irritability, epigastric distress, photosensitivity, dryness of mouth, nose & throat, excessive perspiration, drug rash & hypotension. Haemolytic anaemia, agranulocytosis, headache, difficult urination & thickening of bronchial secretions.
Drug Interactions
May enhance sedative effects of CNS depressants. Enhanced muscarinic effects w/ MAO inhibitors. Additive antimuscarinic action w/ other antimuscarinic drugs eg, atropine & TCAs.
