4 Bifidobacterium mixture of Cell Biotech shows similar genomic specificity with general Bifidobacterium spp. known as 2.5 mega base genome size and high GC content around 60%. All four Bifidobacterium species of Cell Biotech were isolated from infant feces.

According to this fact, these 4 strains are helpful for growth of infants and babies.
Genes associated with metabolism of HMOs: HMOs-Human Milk Oligosaccharide: Human breast milk, unlike cow's milk, contains significant quantities of oligosaccharides. Although they have no nutritional value for the breast-fed infant, milk oligosaccharides exert important prebiotic functions by promoting the colonization of the intestine by commensal microbiota. In addition, milk oligosaccharides contribute to the defense against enteric pathogens by acting as soluble decoys preventing the adhesion of viruses and bacteria to their carbohydrate mucosal receptors. These are not absorbed by the intestinal tissue because they are neither degraded by the acid conditions in the upper gastrointestinal tract nor cleaved in the intestine owing to the lack of locally-expressed glycosidases.
Urea in breast milk: Human breast milk contains large amounts of non-protein nitrogen in the form of urea and ammonium.
The physiological role of this urea and ammonium and its contribution to normal metabolism in infants is as yet not fully understood. In adults, urea is considered to be a water soluble relatively nontoxic waste product, which is excreted as urine through the kidneys.
Ingested urea, contained in breast milk, is metabolized by urease.

Gene clusters for urea metabolism in B. infantisCBT BT1: 15% of total nitrogen contents in breast milk is urea.

B. longum
CBT BG7 and B. infantis CBTBT1 harbor genes encoding bacteriocin.
B. infantis CBT BT1 contains two copies of bacteriocin genes and lantipeptide genes.
Since bacteriocin inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria, CBTBG7 and CBTBT1 are likely to play a role in maintaining the balance of the intestinal microbiota.
