Caution For Usage
Instructions for Use and Handling: Always use Elidel 1% cream exactly as what the doctor or pharmacist has instructed.
Check with the doctor or pharmacist if there would be questions.
Elidel 1% cream should be used for short periods.
Consult the physician if the patient gets skin infection.
Do not cover the skin being treated with bandages, dressings or wraps.
Limit sun exposure during treatment with Elidel even when not applied on the skin.
The patient can use Elidel 1% cream on all areas including the head, face, neck and in the folds of the skin except the eyes and mucous membranes. Elidel 1% cream should only be used on areas of the skin that have eczema.
Follow physician's advice if symptoms of eczema return after a treatment with Elidel 1% cream.
Apply the cream as follows: Wash and dry the hands.
Open the tube (the first time the patient uses the tube, the patient will need to break the seal using the spike in the top of the cap).
Squeeze cream onto finger.
Apply a thin layer of Eidel 1% cream and completely cover the affected skin.
Rub in gently and completely.
Replace the cap on the tube.
The cream should be applied twice daily, for instance once in the morning and once in the evening. Moisturisers (emollients) can be applied immediately after using Elidel 1% cream. However, after a bath/shower, moisturisers (emollients) should be applied before using Elidel 1% cream.
If the patient did not notice any signs of improvement after 6 weeks of treatment, consult the physician. Sometimes, other skin diseases can look like eczema.
Any unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
Once opened, the contents of the tube should be used within 12 months.
