Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Administer 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Changes in insulin requirement due to medical conditions (kidney, liver, adrenal, pituitary or thyroid gland dysfunction, illness) or lifestyle modifications (alcohol, exercise, diet). May affect ability to drive or operate machinery in case of hypoglycaemia. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Hypoglycaemia, changes at inj site (lipodystrophy), local or systemic allergic reactions (redness, swelling, itching), sweating, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, rapid heart beat, dizziness, diabetic retinopathy, swollen joints, painful neuropathy (burning, tingling, electric pain), visual disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Oral antidiabetics, MAOIs, β-blockers, ACE inhibitors, acetylsalicylic acid, anabolic steroids, sulphonamides, OCs, thiazides, glucocorticoids, thyroid hormone therapy, sympathomimetics, growth hormone, danazol, octreotide or lantreotide. May develop heart failure w/ thiazolidinediones.
