Indications and Dosage
Oral
Peripheral vascular disease
Adult: As oxalate: 100-200 mg tid.

Oral
Cerebrovascular disorders
Adult: As oxalate: 100 mg tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food. Take w/ a large glass of water.
Contraindications
History of hyperoxaluria or recurrent calcium-containing stones.
Special Precautions
Patient should take sufficient amount of liquid during treatment.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea and epigastric pain, rash, hepatitis or hepatic failure, calcium oxalate stones.
Overdosage
Symptoms: Convulsions, depression of cardiac conduction. Management: Empty the stomach by gastric lavage and emesis. Activated charcoal may be used if needed. Monitor CV function and respiration. Electrical pacemaking or isoprenaline may be considered in severe cases. Diazepam may be used for convulsions.
Action
Description: Naftidrofuryl produces dilatation of the blood vessels. It has been shown to enhanced cellular oxidative capacity by increasing ATP levels and reducing lactic acid levels in ischaemic conditions. It is also a potent spasmolytic agent.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Well absorbed (oral). Peak plasma levels in about 30 min.
Distribution: Extensively bound to plasma proteins.
Excretion: Mainly via urine as metabolites. Half-life: About 1 hr.
Storage
Store below 20°C in a dry place away from light.
