Indications/Uses
Syr: Acute catarrh (inflammation) of the resp tract accompanied by coughing; symptomatic treatment of chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases. Effervescent tab: Improves symptoms of chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases; acute inflammation of the resp tract accompanied by coughing.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Syr Adult 5-7.5 mL tds. Schoolchildn (6-9 yr) & adolescent (>10 yr) 5 mL tds. Infant (<1 yr) & small childn (1-5 yr) 2.5 mL tds. Effervescent tab Adult & adolescent >12 yr Morning: 1 tab; evening: ½ tab. Total daily dose: 1½ tab. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tab bd. Total daily dose: ½ effervescent tab bd.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Effervescent tab may be divided in halves & dispersed in 100-200 mL of hot/cold water.
Adverse Reactions
Syr: Rarely, laxative effect due to sorbitol content. Effervescent tab: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea.
