Sulconazole is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete's foot and jock itch.
Apply Sulconazole exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not apply more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Your doctor will discuss the use of this medicine as different preparations of Sulconazole may only be used for a specific condition.
Do not use this medicine for any conditions other than what is prescribed by your doctor.
Sulconazole is available as a cream or a topical solution.
To use the cream or topical solution, follow these steps:
- Wash your hands.
- Clean and dry the affected and surrounding area(s) before application.
- Apply and gently massage a small amount of the cream or solution on the affected and surrounding area(s). Do not cover, wrap or bandage the area unless instructed by the doctor.
- Wash your hands after using.
- Replace the cap of the tube or bottle.
Avoid application or any contact of this medicine with your eyes. Rinse immediately with water if it gets into your eyes. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyes.
Apply Sulconazole at regular intervals. Do not skip any doses. You must complete the entire course of this medicine. If you don't, the infection will not be properly controlled.
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
If you often forget to apply your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not use this medicine if you ever had an allergic reaction (e.g. rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to Sulconazole or any of its ingredients.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of allergic reactions to a similar type of medicine such as miconazole, clotrimazole or fluconazole.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The topical solution is not intended to be used for the treatment of athlete's foot.
Maintain good hygiene as this is important in managing fungal infections.
Sulconazole may cause any of the following side effects: skin irritation, burning or stinging sensation, itching, and redness at the application site.
If you develop rashes, breathlessness, swollen mouth or eyes, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor immediately. These could be signs of an allergic reaction.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Let your doctor know if you are using any other creams, ointments, or other medicines on the affected area.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Protect the topical solution from light.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
