Contents
Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg, paracetamol 500 mg, phenylephrine HCl 5 mg, caffeine 12.5 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of nasal congestion, fever, aches, pains & general discomfort associated w/ colds & upper resp infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 2 tab 4 hrly. Max: 8 tab/day. Childn 6-12 yr 1 tab 4 hrly. Max: 4 tab/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Ventricular tachycardia or severe HTN. Concomitant use w/ MAOIs. Lower resp tract infections. Childn <6 yr.
Special Precautions
Asthma, glaucoma, high BP, diabetes, cardiac or thyroid disease. Difficulty in urination due to enlarged prostate gland. Concomitant use w/ antidepressants. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Phenylephrine HCl: Headache, reflex bradycardia, excitability, restlessness. Chlorpheniramine maleate: Urticaria, drug rash, anaphylactic shock, photosensitivity, excessive perspiration, chills, dry mouth, nose & throat. Hematologic & GI disturbances. CV, nervous system, genitourinary & resp disorders.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol.
ATC Classification
N02BE51 - paracetamol, combinations excl. psycholeptics ; Belongs to the class of anilide preparations. Used to relieve pain and fever.
