Trazodone HCl

Indications/Uses

Depressions of various types, w/ or w/o an anxiety component.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Severe forms: 300-600 mg/day. Moderately severe forms: 150-300 mg/day. Slight or masked forms: 75-150 mg/day. To be administered in 3 divided doses.

Administration

Should be taken with food: Take shortly after a meal or a light snack.

Special Precautions

Severe hepatic, renal or cardiac disease. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.

Adverse Reactions

Drowsiness, headache, asthenia, dizziness, GI disturbances, leucopenia. Rarely, priapism (discontinue immediately).

Drug Interactions

May potentiate the effects of muscle relaxants, volatile anesth, alcohol, barbiturates & other CNS depressants.
