Paracetamol
Indications/Uses
Fever & pain due to colds; headache; toothache; muscular, sprain, joint & menstrual pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 1-2 tab every 4-6 hr while symptoms last. Max: 8 tab in 24 hr.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients who suffered from asthma after previous use of paracetamol or any other antipyretic analgesics.
Special Precautions
History of allergic reaction to pain-killers. Not to be taken w/ alcohol; other paracetamol-containing medicines. Concomitant use w/ warfarin or similar blood thinners. Underwt or malnourished. Patients regularly drinking alcohol. Discontinue treatment if the patient experiences allergic reactions; potential serious skin reactions; previously experienced breathing problems w/ aspirin or NSAIDs; nausea, sudden wt loss, appetite loss & yellowing of eyes & skin; unexplained bruising or bleeding; mouth ulcers. Risk for metabolic acidosis may be increased if the patient has a severe infection. Liver or kidney disease; history of liver or kidney disease. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended for childn <12 yr.
