Do not give Vacontil to children under 2 years.
Do not use Vacontil: if there is blood in the stools or the patient has a high temperature; if the patient has inflammation of the lower bowel (for example, ulcerative colitis or pseudomembranous colitis as a result of using antibiotics); if the doctor has told the patient that he/she has a condition where slowing of the intestine should be avoided, for example, if the patient is constipated or the abdomen is swollen; if the patient know that he/she is allergic (hypersensitive) to loperamide HCl or one of the other ingredients.
