Prednisolone
Indications/Uses
RA, bronchial asthma, corticosteroid-indicated conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 10-100 mg daily in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Acute infections, open-angle glaucoma, osteoporosis, cardiac disease.
Special Precautions
Chronic use in childn may suppress growth & development. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Fluid & salt retention, oedema, HTN, muscle wasting, osteoporosis, increased appetite, growth retardation. Adrenal suppression (long-term therapy).
Drug Interactions
Efficacy may be reduced by phenytoin, phenobarb & rifampicin. Corticosteroids may reduce effect of diuretics & hypoglycemics.

H02AB06 - prednisolone ; Belongs to the class of glucocorticoids. Used in systemic corticosteroid preparations.
