Brinzolamide
Indications/Uses
Elevated IOP in patients w/ ocular HTN or open-angle glaucoma. Used as a monotherapy in patients who are unresponsive & contraindicated to β-blockers; as an adjunctive therapy to β-blocker or prostaglandin analogues.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 drop in the affected eye(s) bid-tid.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to brinzolamide, sulfonamide or any of the excipients of Azopt. Severe renal impairment; hyperchloraemic acidosis.
Special Precautions
Hepatic impairment. Childn <18 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Temporary blurred vision upon instillation. Dysgeusia, headache; blepharitis, blurred vision, eye irritation, pain, discharge & pruritus, foreign body sensation, ocular hyperaemia; dry mouth.
Drug Interactions
Oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors.

S01EC04 - brinzolamide ; Belongs to the class of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. Used in the treatment of glaucoma.
