Bromhexine HCl (Bisolvon Syrup 8 mg: high strength)
Indications/Uses
Secretolytic therapy in acute & chronic bronchopulmonary disease associated w/ abnormal mucus secretion & impaired mucus transport.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Bisolvon tab Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab tid, 6-12 yr ½ tab tid, 2-6 yr ½ tab bid. Bisolvon ped syr Childn 6-12 yr 1 tsp tid, 2-6 yr ½ tsp tid, <2 yr ¼ tsp tid. Bisolvon Syrup 8 mg syr Adult & childn >12 yr 5 mL tid. Childn 6-12 yr 2.5 mL tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Bisolvon Syrup 8 mg Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity. Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Pregnancy & lactation. Bisolvon Galactosemia. Bisolvon Syrup 8 mg Discontinue use if severe skin lesions eg, toxic epidermal necrolysis occurs. Patients w/ rare hereditary condition of fructose intolerance.
Adverse Reactions
Bisolvon Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting & other mild GI side effects. Allergic reactions eg, skin rashes, urticaria, bronchospasm, angioedema & anaphylaxis. Bisolvon Syrup 8 mg Anaphylactic reaction including anaphylactic shock, angioedema, bronchospasm, rash, urticaria, pruritus, & other hypersensitivity. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea & upper abdominal pain.
