Doxazosin mesylate
Indications/Uses
HTN, urinary outflow obstruction & irritable symptoms associated w/ BPH.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild to moderate essential HTN Initially 1 mg once daily, may be increased to 2, 4, 8 or max of 16 mg once daily according to individual response at intervals of 1-2 wk. BPH w/ or w/o HTN Same as in HTN w/ max 8 mg once daily. Recommended dose for both indications: 2-4 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to quinazolines.
Special Precautions
Orthostatic hypotension, impaired liver function, leukopenia/neutropenia, preexisting severe pathologic conditions. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Postural hypotension, dizziness, headache, fatigue, vertigo.

C02CA04 - doxazosin ; Belongs to the class of alpha-adrenoreceptor antagonists, peripherally-acting antiadrenergic agents. Used in the treatment of hypertension.
