Cefoperazone Na (equiv to cefoperazone 500 mg), sulbactam Na (equiv to sulbactam 500 mg)
Indications/Uses
Upper & lower resp tract infections, UTI, peritonitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis & other intra-abdominal infections; septicemia, skin & soft tissue, bone & joint infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, gonorrhea & other genital tract infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 2-4 g/day divided 12 hrly. Severe infections 8 g/day divided 12 hrly. Childn 40-80 mg/kg/day divided 6-12 hrly. Severe infections 160 mg/kg/day divided 6-12 hrly.
Contraindications
Allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
Hepatic disease, biliary obstruction, headache, fever.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting; maculopapular rash, urticaria.
