Indications/Uses
Serious gm -ve bacterial infections (eg, septicemia), bone & joint infections, female, pelvic infections, intra-abdominal infections, gm -ve pneumonia, skin & soft tissue infections, burn wound infections, complicated UTI caused by susceptible organisms; meningitis in childn & adults; uncomplicated gonorrhea; later stages of Lyme disease.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM/IV Adult & adolescent 1-2 g once daily, may be increased up to 4 g daily in severe infections. Ped patients 25-37.5 mg/kg daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins & penicillins.
