Ciprofloxacin
Indications/Uses
Infections of the GUT, GIT, resp tract, middle ear, sinuses, eyes, skin & soft tissues, bone & joints, septicemia & in patients w/ reduced host defense.
Dosage/Direction for Use
250-750 mg bid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals to minimise GI discomfort. Do not take w/ antacids, Fe or dairy products.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other quinolones. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn & adolescents.
Special Precautions
Epilepsy, CNS damage, renal & hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, anorexia, flatulence, dizziness, headache, tiredness, agitation, trembling, muscular weakness.

Drug Interactions
Absorption reduced by antacids. May increase theophylline plasma level. Concomitant intake w/ NSAIDs.
