Special Precautions
Restriction on Use: Ciprobay should be used with caution in the elderly and in patients with previous damage to the CNS eg, in epilepsy and/or reduced convulsion threshold, and in the event of convulsive fits in the patient's case history, reduced cerebral blood flow, changes in the brain structure or stroke. Ciprobay should only be used where the benefits of treatment exceed the risks, since these patients are endangered because of possible central nervous system side effects.
Effects on the Ability to Drive or Operate Machinery: Even when Ciprobay is taken exactly as prescribed, it can affect the speed of reaction to such an extent that the ability to drive or to operate machinery is impaired. This applies particularly in combination with alcohol.
