Micronized loratadine
Indications/Uses
Relief of signs & symptoms associated w/ allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria & other allergic dermatologic disorders.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn ≥12 yr 1 tab or 2 tsp (10 mL) once daily. Childn 2-12 yr weighing >30 kg 2 tsp (10 mL) once daily, ≤30 kg 1 tsp (5 mL) once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue use approx 48 hr prior to skin testing procedure. Severe liver impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Fatigue, headache, somnolence, dry mouth, GI disorders (eg, nausea, gastritis) & allergic symptoms eg, rash.
Drug Interactions
Increased/elevated plasma conc w/ ketoconazole, erythromycin or cimetidine, CYP450 3A4 & 2D6 inhibitors & inducers. Drugs known to inhibit hepatic metabolism. Prevented or diminished positive reactions to dermal indicators in skin testing procedures.
