Clindamycin phosphate
Indications/Uses
Bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms of anaerobes, streptococci & staphylococci.
Dosage/Direction for Use
150-600 mg IM or IV 6 hrly. Max: 2.7 g/day.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin.
Special Precautions
History of GI disease particularly ulcerative colitis or severe hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Skin rash, redness, itching, pseudomembranous colitis, GI disturbance.
Drug Interactions
Ampicillin, phenytoin Na, barbiturates, aminophylline, Ca gluconate, Mg sulfate.
