Ibuprofen
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of pain & inflammation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab tid-qid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to NSAIDs. Active GI bleeding. Hematopoetic disorders of unknown origin, reduction in RBC, abnormal bleeding tendency. 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
Special Precautions
First 6 mth of pregnancy. Childn <6 yr. Asthma & urticaria, GI disorders, history of peptic or intestinal ulcers, liver or kidney damage, hepatic porphyrias, raised BP &/or cardiac insufficiency. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Peptic ulceration, GI bleeding, dyspepsia, headache, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness, skin rash, pruritus, tinnitus, edema, depression, agitation, irritability or drowsiness, blurred vision, hypersensitivity reactions, renal impairment, thrombocytopenia.
Drug Interactions
May reduce effects of diuretics & β-blockers. May prolong bleeding time & increase plasma conc of warfarin. May alter plasma conc of phenytoin & sulfonylureas.
