Clobetasol propionate
Indications/Uses
Psoriasis, recalcitrant eczemas, lichen planus & discoid lupus erythematosus & other conditions which do not respond satisfactorily to less active steroids.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cream/oint Apply once daily to bid. Scalp application Apply bid until improvement occurs.
Contraindications
Dermatoses in childn <1 yr, including dermatitis. Cream/Oint Rosacea; acne vulgaris; perioral dermatitis; primary cutaneous viral infection; bacterial, fungal infected skin lesions; perianal & genital pruritus. Scalp application Scalp infection.
Special Precautions
Infant & childn. Avoid contact w/ eyes. Long-term continuous therapy. Pregnancy (extensive use in scalp application). Cream/oint Face may exhibit atrophic changes on prolonged treatment. Scalp application Discontinue if secondary infection develops.
Adverse Reactions
Local atrophic skin changes; hypercorticism (chronic use); rarely pustular psoriasis, HPA axis suppression. Hypersensitivity.

D07AD01 - clobetasol ; Belongs to the class of very potent (group IV) corticosteroids. Used in the treatment of dermatological diseases.
