Indications/Uses
Infections caused by susceptible gm+ve bacteria including penicillinase-producing pathogens.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1-2 g daily in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take at least 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillins.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins. Infants, jaundiced neonates. Renal impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reaction, GI disturbances, glossitis, stomatitis, black 'hairy' tongue, blood disorders, anaphylaxis.
Drug Interactions
Probenecid impairs renal excretion. Decreases anticoagulant effect.
