Indications/Uses
RA, ankylosing spondylitis, OA.
Dosage/Direction for Use
RA 150-200 mg daily. OA 100-150 mg daily. Ankylosing spondylitis 100-125 mg daily in 2-4 divided doses. Inj 1 amp IM once daily. Severe cases 2 inj/day by few hr interval.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to aspirin & other NSAIDs. GI bleeding. Severe hepatic & renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Bleeding disorders, CV disease, history of/or existing peptic ulceration. Renal failure. Pregnancy. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances & bleeding, peptic ulceration; headache, dizziness, nervousness; skin rash, pruritus, tinnitus, edema; drowsiness. Hypersensitivity. Liver & kidney impairment. Agranulocytosis & thrombocytopenia.
Drug Interactions
Increases plasma conc of warfarin, lithium & methotrexate. May reduce effects of diuretics & β-blockers. May alter plasma conc of sulfonylureas.
