Indications/Uses
Dyslipidemia: Fredrickson types IIa, IIb, III, IV & V. Dyslipidemia associated w/ diabetes, xanthomata associated w/ hyperlipidemia. Hypertriglyceridemia. Patients w/ HDL cholesterol levels ≤45 mg/dL.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1.2 g daily in 2 divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Gallbladder disease. Severe hepatic, renal dysfunction. Primary biliary cirrhosis.
Adverse Reactions
GI upset, diarrhea, nausea, bloating.
Drug Interactions
Increases plasma conc of warfarin.
