Neurological exam should be performed before each administration is started & then periodically. For patients who develop acute laryngopharyngeal dysaesthesias, during or w/in hr following the 2-hr infusion, the next oxaliplatin infusion should be administered over 6 hr. Monitor blood counts. If hematological toxicity occurs (neutrophils <1,500/mm3
or platelet counts <50,000/mm3
), administration of the next course of therapy should be postponed until toxicity has resolved.
