Indications/Uses
Laxative, antacid.
Dosage/Direction for Use
30-60 mL once daily at bedtime for laxative, 5-15 mL qid for antacid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Intestinal obstruction, fecal impaction, appendicitis.
Special Precautions
Severe renal failure.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea & vomiting, hypotension, hypermagnesemia, muscle weakness, resp depression.
Drug Interactions
Decrease absorption of tetracyclines, digoxin, Fe salts, INH & quinolones.
