Indications/Uses
Secretolytic/mucolytic therapy in acute & chronic bronchopulmonary diseases; associated w/ abnormal mucus secretion & impaired mucus transport, & antidote in paracetamol poisoning.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mucolytic 1 tab bid-tid. Paracetamol poisoning antidote Adult 2 tab soln immediately & then 1 tab soln after 4 hr until controlled.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Dissolve 1 tab in ½ glass of water.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Asthmatic patients, elderly & severe resp insufficiency. History of peptic ulcer. Discontinue use if allergic reaction occurs. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Bronchospasm, angioedema, rashes, pruritus; hypotension or HTN (occasionally). Flushing, nausea & vomiting, fever, syncope, sweating, arthralgia, blurred vision, liver function disturbances, acidosis, convulsions & cardiac or resp arrest.
