Indications/Uses
Mucolytic agent in acute & chronic diseases of the resp system. Symptomatic treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis in adults.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult >18 yr & elderly 300 mg bid-tid. Max: 900 mg/day. Mild to moderate hepatic impairment Max: 300 mg/day. Duration of treatment for acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis should not exceed 10 days.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole w/ a glass of water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ CrCl <25 mL/min, or severe liver failure. Active peptic ulcer.
Special Precautions
Do not exceed 300 mg/day in patients w/ mild liver failure. Minor or negligible influence on the ability to drive & operate machines. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache; cold, dyspnoea; taste alterations, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, epigastric pain; urticaria, erythema, eczema.
