Indications/Uses
Treatment of Fe deficiency anemia. Fe supplement for hemodialysis & chronic renal disease patients.
Dosage/Direction for Use
AdultHemodialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease (HDD-CKD) patients 100 mg (undiluted) slow IV over 2-5 min, or 100 mg (diluted in NSS 100 mL) IV infusion over 15 min/consecutive hemodialysis session for a total cumulative dose of 1,000 mg. Non-dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease (NDD-CKD) patients Total cumulative dose of 1,000 mg over a 14 day period as 200 mg (undiluted) slow IV over 2-5 min on 5 different occasions w/in the 14 day period.
Contraindications
Fe overload & anemia not caused by Fe deficiency.
Special Precautions
Tissue Fe overload. Monitor hematologic & hematinic parameters periodically.
