Indications/Uses
Essential HTN, angina pectoris.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 5 mg once daily. Maintenance: 5-10 mg once daily. Elderly Initially 2.5 mg once daily, may be adjusted if required.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Take w/o food or w/ a light meal. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush. Avoid grapefruit juice.
Contraindications
Pregnancy including the early stages, lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Flushing, headache, palpitations, dizziness, fatigue, peripheral oedema.
Drug Interactions
Plasma conc decreased by phenytoin, carbamazepine, barbiturates, & increased by cimetidine, erythromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole. Grapefruit juice.
