Gentamicin sulfate
Indications/Uses
UTI, resp tract infections, septicaemia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Inj Adult 40-80 mg IM bid-tid or 1 mg/kg body wt IV tid. Childn 0.5-1 mg/kg body wt IM bid-tid. Ped inj Individualised dosage.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Impaired renal function. Pregnancy. Myasthenia gravis. Parkinsonism.
Adverse Reactions
Ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity, neuromuscular blockade, superinfections.
Drug Interactions
Concurrent or sequential administration w/ potent diuretics, anaesth, neuromuscular blockers, other aminoglycosides, nephrotoxic, neurotoxic or ototoxic drugs.
