Indications/Uses
NIDDM.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1-2 tab tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Diabetic coma, ketoacidosis, renal impairment, chronic liver disease, cardiac failure, recent MI, alcoholism, hypoxemia, history of lactic acidosis.
Special Precautions
Conditions which may cause dehydration. Serious infection or trauma. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances; rarely, lactic acidosis.
Drug Interactions
May cause hypoglycemia w/ sulfonylureas or insulin. Risk of lactic acidosis is increased by alcohol. Impairs absorption of vit B12. Anticoagulants, cimetidine.
