Dicloxacillin Na
Indications/Uses
Infections caused by susceptible microorganisms particularly penicillinase-producing strains eg, mild to moderate resp tract & skin & soft tissue infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >40 kg 125-250 mg every 6 hr. Infants & childn up to 40 kg 3.125-6.25 mg/kg every 6 hr. Staphylococcal infections Continue for at least 14 days. Group A β-hemolytic streptococcal infections Continue for at least 10 days.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take at least 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Special Precautions
Known hypersensitivity to penicillins is contraindicated. Hypersensitivity may occur. Discontinue use if skin rashes. itching or edema occurs. Pregnancy & lactation, & neonates.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort, flatulence; pruritus, urticaria, skin rashes, & allergic symptoms.
