Indications/Uses
Primary prevention of CHD & MI in patients w/ hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia. Dyslipidemia (Fredrickson types IIa, IIb, III, IV & V). Dyslipidemia associated w/ diabetes, xanthomata associated w/ hyperlipidemia. Hypertriglyceridemia, patients w/ HDL levels ≤45 mg/dL.
Dosage/Direction for Use
600 mg bid.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Severe hepatic, renal dysfunction, gallbladder disease.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, nausea, GI upset, bloating.
Drug Interactions
Increases plasma conc of warfarin.
