Clonidine HCl

Indications/Uses

ADHD.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Childn >45 kg Initially 0.1 mg at bed time may be increased every 3-7 days by 0.1 mg increments bid, then tid, then qid. Max dose: 0.4 mg/day, ≤45 kg Initially 0.05 mg at bed time may be increased every 3-7 days by 0.05 mg increments bid, then tid, then qid. Max dose: 0.2 mg/day for patients weighing 40.5-45 kg. When discontinuing therapy, taper gradually over 1-2 wk.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Severe coronary insufficiency. Patients who perform task which require mental alertness.

Adverse Reactions

Drowsiness, headache, fatigue, dizziness, insomnia, xerostomia, constipation.
