Povidone iodine (equiv to iodine 1%)
Indications/Uses
Broad-spectrum antiseptic.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply at the affected skin & tissues before & after surgery w/o dilution. Soak gauze w/ Ipodine & then apply at the infected, open, or chronic wound & burn area bid.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if irritation or skin redness w/ itching or burning sensation occurs, & infection is suspected. Avoid exposure to eyes, the surrounding area or organs w/ mucous membrane (eg, nose, mouth).
Adverse Reactions
Burning sensation, erythematous rash, skin irritation.
