Indications/Uses
Systemic fungal infections, oral thrush, skin, nails & hair fungal infections, paracoccidioidomycosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Vag candidiasis 1 tab morning & evening for 5 days. Other indications 1 tab/day. May increase to 400 mg/day. Duration: Oral thrush 10 days. Mycosis of hair & nails 1-2 mth. Systemic candidiasis 1-2 mth. Paracoccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis 2-6 mth. Onychomycosis & chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis 6-12 mth. Childn 50-100 mg/day.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hepatic impairment.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea; rashes, pruritus. Rarely, hepatotoxicity, gynecomastia.
Drug Interactions
Reduced absorption w/ anticholinergics, antacids & cimetidine.
