Indications/Uses
Reduction of elevated IOP in patients w/ open-angle glaucoma or ocular HTN.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to latanoprost or benzalkonium Cl.
Special Precautions
Increase in pigmentation of the iris may occur; patients should be examined regularly. Gradual change of eyelashes & vellus hair in the treated eye. History of intraocular inflammation (iritis/uveitis); should not be used in patients w/ active intraocular inflammation. Patients who do not have an intact posterior cap or who have known risk factors for macular edema. Bacterial keratitis. Remove contact lenses prior to application & re-insert 15 min after administration. Administer at least 5 min apart in concomitant use w/ eyedrops containing thimerosal. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Eyelash changes (increased length, thickness, pigmentation & number of lashes), eyelid skin darkening, intraocular inflammation (iritis/uveitis), iris pigmentation changes, macular edema including cystoid macular edema; blurred vision, burning & stinging, conjunctival hyperemia, foreign body sensation, itching, increased pigmentation of the iris & punctuate epithelial keratopathy, local conjunctival hyperemia; dry eye, excessive tearing, eye pain, lid crusting, lid discomfort/pain, lid edema, lid erythema & photophobia; conjunctivitis, diplopia & discharge from the eye; retinal artery embolus, retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage from diabetic retinopathy; upper resp tract infection, chest pain/angina pectoris, muscle/joint/back pain & rash/allergic skin reaction.
Drug Interactions
Precipitation may occur w/ eye drops containing thimerosal.

S01EE01 - latanoprost ; Belongs to the class of prostaglandin analogues. Used in the treatment of glaucoma.
